As a domiciliary care provider, we are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) who inspect our service and rate us on their key lines of enquiries.

On 12th January we received a Director Monitoring Assessment meeting with the CQC who then decide if we are meeting the fundamental standards based on their set of questions, we passed with flying colours and were informed on the spot that we do not require any regulatory involvement based on this assessment. You can find out more about CQC's approach HERE

Here is the full report from our meeting:

Following this, we wanted to ensure we have a full inspection of our service, to provide feedback on how we can improve and ensure that we are keeping on top of governance of the service.

This Mock CQC inspection was carried out by a current CQC inspector and took place over 2 days in our Emsworth office. She spoke with a range of service users, their families and the team.

We are pleased to announce that we achieved 'Good' in all 5 areas assessed.

Highlights included our service user feedback "People told us that Unity provided them with a good service. Comments included, “Unity is very proactive”, “Unity is a blessing to me”, “I am fortunate that I have found a real gem in Unity”, “My previous provider is not a patch on Unity”, and Unity is first class”."

And the feedback from our team " There was a positive staff culture which helped to achieve good outcomes for people. One staff member said, "I enjoy working here, the staff really look after each other." Another staff member told us, “This is by far the best job I have ever had”."

What the Registered Manager Natalie Dobson had to say "I am so pleased to get the affirmation that we are delivering a good service here at Unity Care Specialists. The team work so hard, ensuring the people we support get the right level off care, while promoting their independence and choices. It is important to me that the service we offer is one of quality, and the team are equipped with the knowledge and support they need to deliver excellent care. I am thankful to have the team we have and we look forward to continuing to develop on our service and working towards and outstanding rating on our next inspection. "
