WHAT IS RESPITE CARE?

Your own wellbeing is important too, and respite care enables the primary care giver to be able to take time out to rest, relax and recharge.

This is an opportunity for the primary carer to have time to meet their own needs and have a holiday, with the reassurance their loved ones are being supported with the care and compassion they deserve.

Respite care can also be a great opportunity for older people, as they get to meet new people and try new things, such as activities and scenery.

There are lots of respite care options while you remain at home, this could include daily visits , a few hours sit in service or even 24 hour care. Depending on the purpose for respite care, this could be something which is implemented on a short or long term basis.

How Do I Make Arrangement For Respite Care?

Respite care is provided as a result of your carer’s assessment or needs assessment for the people being cared for.

If you feel respite care would benefit your situation, you can contact your local council to request an assessment.

Funding may be available for respite care. You can contact your local council or local carers' centre to find out more about the support you could receive. Please be aware you may be required to contribute towards the cost.

Our Respite Care

We support people with a tailored approach, while the primary carer can have a much-needed break.

Everyone who we support will have a personalised care plan, to highlight the support that is required for their needs, interests, preferences and routines.

Our team are experienced and trained in supporting older people who have physical disabilities, sensory impairments, dementia care, and other conditions such as mental health and Parkinson’s disease.

We will create a personalised support plan with you and your loved ones to understand how we can best help you, understanding your likes and dislikes and any goals we can help you to achieve.

We offer a 30+ minute visits, sit-in service or even full days and nights.
