Celebrating Jenny's Latest Achievement: Investing in Excellence, Inspiring Others

At Unity Care Specialists, we are incredibly proud of our people and the journeys they take throughout their careers. This week, we're delighted to celebrate a fantastic achievement by our Training and Quality Coordinator, Jenny Godman, who has successfully completed her Level 3 Award in Education and Training alongside gaining a number of Train the Trainer accreditations across a range of subjects.

This is a significant milestone, not only for Jenny personally, but for our entire team and the people we support.

From Care Assistant to Training and Quality Coordinator

Jenny's story is one that truly embodies the opportunities available within a career in care.

She first joined Unity Care Specialists as a Care Assistant, bringing compassion, dedication and a genuine desire to make a difference. It quickly became clear that Jenny had a natural ability to support and encourage others, leading to her promotion into one of our earliest Team Leader positions.

During this time, Jenny played an instrumental role in helping shape what the Team Leader role would become. She contributed to developing processes, supporting colleagues, and helping define the leadership pathway that continues to support career progression within our organisation today.

As her experience grew, so did her passion for helping others develop. Her exceptional attention to detail, commitment to quality and enthusiasm for mentoring naturally led to her promotion into the role of Training and Quality Coordinator.

Since then, Jenny has continued to invest in both her own professional development and the development of those around her. As if completing one qualification wasn't enough, she is also currently working towards her Level 5 Professional Coaching Qualification.

Honestly, we're not entirely convinced Jenny remembers what a day off looks like... but we're very grateful for her dedication!

Raising the Bar for Staff Development

Jenny's newly gained qualifications will bring huge benefits to our in-house training programme.

By delivering more internally accredited training, we can:

• Enhance the quality and consistency of staff learning.

• Provide more accessible training opportunities for new and existing team members.

• Increase hands-on support during practical learning sessions.

• Offer more personalised coaching, mentoring and development.

• Respond quickly to learning needs identified through quality monitoring and observations.

• Continue developing a blended learning approach that combines classroom learning, practical demonstrations, coaching and ongoing support.

  
  

Most importantly, it means our carers will have even greater access to guidance from someone who truly understands the realities of delivering outstanding care because she has walked that journey herself.

Jenny's experience across frontline care, leadership and quality assurance allows her to bring practical examples, real-world knowledge and invaluable mentoring to every training session she delivers.

Jenny's Passion for Developing Others

When reflecting on her journey, Jenny shared:

"I first found a passion for training when I started supporting our carers with their initial care inductions. Seeing our team members learn and develop as carers and knowing I played a small part of that journey sparked a passion in wanting to find new ways in which I can support and enable people to develop. Moving into a trainer role felt like the most natural step, allowing me to gain more experience and confidence, and then be able to share that with our team. I'm very proud to be a part of Unity Care Specialists, and I'm grateful for the opportunities I've been given to follow this path. I look forward to developing our training programme, and delivering a blended and inclusive training approach that demonstrates our values and passion for outstanding care."

It's this passion, combined with her commitment to excellence, that makes Jenny such an important part of our team.
